Lincoln Nebraska boy, 12, killed with gun meant to be Christmas present
KETV Newswatch 7 (Omaha, NE), 12/19/2004

(Lincoln, Nebraska) -- A 12-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed by his 17-year-old friend.

The boy had found one of his Christmas presents early, a 12-gauge shotgun, which he then loaded and showed to two friends in the basement of his home.

The 17-year-old, not knowing the firearm was loaded, pointed it and pulled the trigger.

The victim's parents were not home at the time of the shooting.
