About Us Who We Are Common Sense about Kids and Guns is a non-profit group of owners and non-owners of guns committed to working together to protect America's children from gun deaths and injuries. Our unique founding coalition included gun control advocates, gun manufacturers and others in the firearms industry, child safety advocates, child welfare advocates, crime prevention advocates, and mayors. Our mission is to reduce gun deaths and injuries to children and teens by promoting common sense safety measures and personal and community responsibility for preventing unsupervised access to guns. What We Believe Adults bear the responsibility for protecting children and teens from the dangers of unsupervised access to guns. Common sense solutions exist today that can greatly reduce gun-related injuries and deaths. They are:
What We Do In order to increase public awareness about the issue, Common Sense is creating a national media campaign of web, print, radio and television advertising. To teach and inspire Americans to take personal and community responsibility children's safety from guns, Common Sense is providing a national clearinghouse and a public forum.
